Can You Wear Jeans To The Work Place?

I would like to be as strict as I was all along about the NO JEANS at work policy!
However, I had a change of heart recently. I believe that if you follow these rules you will look good at work in jeans.
  1. Do wear dark classic solid colored jeans, such as black or dark navy.
  2. Do wear boot leg styles, avoid stretch and fitted ones.
  3. Do wear jeans only on the last working days of the week, or the dress down working day, remember jeans is a casual wear!
  4. Do wear a formal, classic long sleeves top. Wearing a jacket would enhance your formal image.
  5. Do wear classic pumps and matching stockings.

Here are the don'ts:

  1. Dont' wear jeans with attention grabbing details such as sequins, colored embroideries, embellishments etc.
  2. Don't wear jeans if you have meetings with executives or with people outside your section.
Check all other image enhancing factors, such as your accessories, your manners and your skills. Everything counts.

Stay tuned for another tip soon....

Rachel Ray: The Queen of Mess.
This post is obviously about Rachel Ray! Why?
Do you wonder sometimes why I criticize celebrities so much for their style choices?
I do confess that I do. And you are right about that, at least.
The reason is that many women fall prey to imitating celebrities, and I work to awaken both the prey and the predator (fashion predator of course) to doing the right thing.
Celebrities beware of what you present to your audience; you are on some kind of a podium!
Audiences beware of blind imitation! Celebrities are as confused as you are sometimes, or rather most of the time.
So is Rachel Ray different?
No way!
She makes some of the worst image mistakes I see on TV.
I wonder who her stylist is if she has one!
Not only her cooking is a mess, her image is a mess.
All her choices are wrong.
Her colors are wrong.
Her design and style are wrong.
Her combinations are wrong.
I think that her show is as bad as her cooking. I am sure she has fans and that doesn't bother me. What bothers me most is that she is sending a message that you can break all the basic image rules and be successful. That depends on what success is. That is another story.
The worst thing she does is accentuate the flaw in her neck.
I know that your features are God given and I truly respect that. But one needs to respect what God gave you by doing the right thing, right?

If you have a neck like hers and like many other millions of women then do the following.
1- Eliminate neck and ear accessories all together.
2- Keep your shoulders plain and wear solid colors.
3- Wear necklines far from your neck.
4- Wear your Hair up considering also your face shape.
5- Focus on your good features to distract the attention from your neck and shoulders. Wear a nice skirt or pants, skip the tightly fit clothes and choose simple outfits with gradation of 3 monochromatic colors (such as white, grey and black) having the medium color on your top outfit.
6- Don't pretend!

I hope that you use the tips above.

Oprah! Go back to your old coloring.

Did Oprah change her style? Is she putting on a new look?

I for one noticed the obvious, right?

You must have noticed too.

Do you like her new appearance?

Most of you who judge appearances by your preferences would think that Oprah look either better or worse according to your color liking, correct?

Since I am here talking to you through my blog, I can only wait for your comments.

Let me give you an image consultant perspective.

Oprah did change her personal colors as well as her hair color and style. She is putting on a new look hoping to set a trend. Well may be not.

Who can blame her? she is a talk show hostess where image matters a lot, but that is another topic.

So, Oprah is right to feel the need to change her appearance once in a while.
She is not right to change to worse.

Wait!

Don’t start arguing that the colors she wears now are fashionable or beautiful. I know they are.

But those are the colors.

Not Oprah!

She has opted for autumn colors with a yellow undertone. Oprah can’t wear yellow undertones or golden undertones or pink undertones for that matter.

She has a true blue undertone.

She is a WINTER.

Winter people can be dark or fair, all the same.
Remember her last year’s look? That was more flattering.

Oprah now seems to have come out off a tungsten light bulb.
The shine she has around her is not coming out from her own skin; it is coming out off the colors she is wearing from make up to clothes. Had she been wearing the right colors, the beholder won’t notice them but her.

My advice!

Go for a COLOR ANALYSIS SESSION. You Oprah can afford it, so can millions of women on planet earth.

BE COOL, literally!
